Harmony Self-Directed Learning Curriculum

The Harmony Self-Directed Learning Curriculum is designed to foster intrinsic motivation, self-directed learning, and the development of the whole child. Grounded in the belief that learning can occur anytime, anywhere, and in countless forms, the curriculum emphasizes flexibility, student choice, and real-world relevance. This approach empowers students to pursue their passions while engaging in meaningful, guided education.

Learning Beyond Boundaries​

    • Students are encouraged to view all experiences as valuable learning opportunities, fostering a mindset of continuous growth.

    • Classes are voluntary, allowing students to explore topics that resonate with their interests and goals.

    • Students can try as many classes as they wish, with the option to commit as regular participants.

  3. Advisory and Mentorship

    • Each student is paired with a personal advisor who helps set goals, track progress, and connect students with tutorials, resources, and the community.

    • Weekly advisor meetings ensure individualized support and encouragement, forming the foundation of the student experience.

  4. Intrinsic Motivation and Self-Direction

    • Without compulsory classes, grades, or standardized tests, students are free to direct their learning, fostering deeper engagement and intrinsic motivation.

Student Commitment and Expectations

While classes are voluntary, students who choose to participate are expected to commit to attendance and communication with instructors.

 

Some classes may require independent work outside of scheduled sessions, clearly outlined in the class description.
